HELP SAVE
SOWAMS SCHOOL

Led exclusively by Barrington residents.

As of September 22, 2023, the Save Sowams School campaign has been ended. The School Committee is now weighing two solid options that will benefit Barrington, both preserving neighborhood schools, albeit in different ways.

Option 2: Renovate and Expand all elementary schools, while keeping the 4-5 town-wide school at HMS.

​

Option 5: Close HMS and convert Sowams/Nayatt/Primrose Hill into pk-5.

​

Both plans include a modest renovation of BHS and the construction of a much-needed STEAM wing.

​

There are multiple upcoming community forums on the subject in the month of October, and a referendum on November 7th to vote for the bond to fund EITHER option.

I encourage everyone who has followed and participated in this campaign to vote Yes for the bond. The consequence of rejecting it is turning our backs on substantial state reimbursement for school construction.
